HOTEL MOUNTVIEW, Chandigarh – A Smart Stay in the City

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, providing easy access to various amenities. The rooms are decently sized, meeting basic requirements, with clean interiors despite slightly small bathrooms. The service is commendable, with a courteous staff offering assistance readily. However, the dining falls below expectations for a supposed 5-star establishment, with limited breakfast options served before early hours. The property boasts a serene environment away from the city hustle, though some areas require cleaning. The overall value for money is reasonable, offering a tranquil stay within a beautiful setting.

Surrounded by lush green lawns, the hotel provides a refreshing and energizing atmosphere. The rooms were clean and of a fair size, offering a good shower and a comfortable bed. The service was a mix of both professional and courteous with some room for improvement. The location, although good and with friendly staff, could benefit from some maintenance and upgrades. The dining experience, while offering a wide variety, had some room for enhancement. Overall, a decent stay with positive aspects but with potential for improvement.

Upon arrival, I found the hotel to have a prime location at the heart of the city, perfect for my sightseeing trips. The rooms were not up to the mark, even with good weather outside, mainly due to the horrible plumbing issues and the lack of manners from the staff when attending calls. The breakfast had its drawbacks with hard paranthe and untasty aloo bhaji, but the service in the all-day cafe by Mr Ram Singh was exceptional.

Although the hotel was not up to the 5-star quality as advertised, the staff went above and beyond, especially Mr Ravinder at the front desk, to make my week and a half stay enjoyable. The location, while far from the city, had excellent cafes and restaurants nearby, offering a welcoming atmosphere. The dining experience was below expectations, with limited options and unaccommodating staff. However, the facilities were sufficient to meet basic needs.

I was quite busy with a seminar so I only used the room for sleeping. The room was left open after cleaning, requiring management to address the issue, which took some time. There was late-night noise from a neighboring room, possibly due to a wedding event in the lawn. The hotel manager was slow to respond to the concerns.

I stayed at the hotel for a busy seminar period and found the rooms to be decent, fitting my sleeping needs. My requested calm corner placement was nice, but the overall look didn't match a 5-star hotel, and the bathroom left much to be desired.
